Day 4 - God is Faithful
Read Isaiah 46:8-11
In this portion of scripture, the Spirit of God encourages believers to do three things that will help them know that God will be faithful in the present.
1) Is to recall what God has done in the past, “Remember the things of old.” If you think about it, we have a lot of past history from creation to the present to look back on and ponder God’s faithfulness. We also have our own personal history to look back on and see the faithfulness of God.
2) Is to meditate upon the fact there is no other God like our God, “For I am God, and there is no other.” There are so many scriptures to help us meditate upon this truth. Here are just a few, Exodus 34:1-8, Isaiah 6:1-8, Matthew 17:1-13, Acts 17:22-31, Revelation 1:9-20, Revelation 5:1-7, and Revelation 19:11-16
3) Is to know that God is the only God who declares the end from the beginning, “My counsel shall stand.” By one count, about 27 percent of the Bible is predictive (Payne, J. B., The Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy, Baker Pub. Group, 1980, p. 675). This means that, when written, over one-fourth of the Bible—more than one in four verses—was prophetic. Conservatively, Jesus fulfilled at least 300 prophecies in His earthly ministry. These statistics were taken from GotQuestions.org
As we remember God’s faithfulness in the past, as we meditate upon the fact that there is none like Him, and as we see God’s prophetic word coming to pass even in our lifetime may we be convinced God will be faithful in the present, and in the future.
