Day 7 - God Is Present Everywhere

Read Psalm 139:7-12

Have you ever felt like you’re alone? Alone in your thoughts or even like there will be no end to the sadness and loneliness that you feel? David, our writer here in Psalm 139 considered the truth that God is present everywhere. That nothing and NO ONE is hidden from Him and His presence.

David uses this imagery of going from the highest place, heaven, to the lowest place, hell; and that even to the far reaches of the universe nothing is hidden from God. No matter how hard life is, no matter your struggle, and no matter how lost and alone you may feel; God is there with you. David here felt God’s presence was like a constant light in the darkness and you can see that he was assured of the constant presence of God’s hand and that not even death could separate him from God’s love. Paul would later say this exact thing in Romans 8:38-39: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Be assured today that no matter where you are, or what you are going through, God’s presence and His Spirit will hold you through it all.
