Day 13 - Jesus is Our High Priest
Read Hebrews 4:14-16
My Lord, You know what it is to walk my walk and face the toils of the day, the uncertainties of tomorrow, and the temptations leading me to stumble. You did not remain aloft and indifferent to man’s plight or expect mankind to lift himself to your holy place. Being both God and man, you walked among us as a humble servant, teaching and healing and showing what it means to love and obey the Father and to walk in faith. With unwavering love and commitment to redeem mankind, You did not falter amidst temptations, rejection, humility, loss, suffering, and death.
In Your perfect sacrifice to atone for all sins, You removed the veil that once separated us from God’s throne. The veil that protected sinful man from God’s glory is no longer needed with You, Jesus, as our High Priest. You are the way, the truth, and the life, and the only means for us to come to the Father. (John 14:16)
I can now come to your throne of grace as my mediator, teacher, truth-speaker, healer, redeemer, King of Kings, and sovereign God. Through my walk, please strengthen my faith to receive your boundless grace. May I be so bold to walk in righteousness as you have called me from this world and enable me to serve you through all my days. I also pray for a gifted tongue and hunger to confidently proclaim the fruits of your love and mercy and grace I know firsthand. For the joy of your love is so overwhelming that I cannot contain it in my heart.
